Our Beliefs

Forgiven Much Ministries (FMM) helps people find the gospel through addiction recovery with a focus on sexuality.  We share truth and understanding on what takes place in the spirit, soul and body and help people walk through that on their journey to wholeness.

Values

Submission to Lordship of Jesus Christ
Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

Intimacy in Relationships
Jeremiah 1:5 – “Before I formed you in the womb I knew (yada: to know and become experientially known) you, and before you were born, I consecrated you; I have appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

Preparation for Service
Ephesians 4:12 – for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ;

Generosity in Stewardship
1 Peter 4:10 – Each of you should use whatever gift (time, talents, treasures) you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

Corrected Perception
Matthew 6:22-23 – “The eye is the lamp of the body; so then, if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So, if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

Statement of Faith

FMM believes that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are completely inspired by God and should be the single authority for instructions on healthy and godly living.

We believe in one God who exists in three persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, and that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and lived a sinless life. He was crucified and buried and rose from the dead to sit at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to the earth in power and glory.

We believe that only through true faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord can a person enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

We believe that God’s Holy Spirit empowers us to grow closer to our Heavenly Father and to obediently walk in His will.

We believe that a successful recovery journey requires transformation based on the surrender of our lives to Jesus Christ and the principles in the L.I.F.E. Recovery Model.

Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality

We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen 1:26-27). Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.

We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Gen 2:18-25.) We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Cor 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb 13:4.) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (Matt 15:18-20; 1 Cor 6:9-10.)

We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of FMM as a local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to FMM’s associates, customers and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by FMM in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement of Faith, Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matt 5:16; Phil 2:14-16; 1 Thess 5:22.)

We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor 6:9-11.)

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31.) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of FMM.

Statement of Final Authority for Matters of Belief and Conduct

The statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired and infallible Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe. For purposes of FMM’s faith, doctrine, practice, policy, and discipline, our board of directors is FMM’s final interpretive authority on the Bible’s meaning and application.
